BMX is the biggest bicycle sport in Australia. Not that you would know it, unless you are in the sport you have no idea just how big and good it is. With over 7,500 licenced riders it is bigger than road cycling and mountain bike riding.
BMX is a popular and competative sport for people of all ages. From the cutest little 5 and under sprokets to the 45+. Everyone would have to agree with me when I say the A and AA pro's put on the best show for everyone, especially when they are competing for something big.
There are all kinds of levels for BMX racing. The first and beginning level is club. This is where new riders can learn how to race, handle gate starts and competition. Open meetings are great for a rider who wants more experience and is a great start for the Zone series. The Zone Series is done in the lead up to the State titles and is aprox. 6 race meetings at different tracks throughout the year. This Series gives the riders an opportunity to race people their own age and highten their race abilities. The State Titles is one the best times on the BMX calender, as riders from all around NSW come together at one clubs track and compete for NSW No.1. This race meeting really tests a riders ability and is an all round good time. The Australian Titles are for the more experienced riders and the World Titles are for the best riders from each country.
